Magnetic Enterography
Magnetic Resonance Enterography (MR Enterography, MRE) is a specialized imaging technique of the small intestine using an MRI scanner. It is widely used for diagnosing various small bowel conditions, particularly Crohn’s disease.
MRE is a non-invasive examination that provides highly detailed images of the intestine. A key advantage of this method is the absence of ionizing radiation, making it the preferred examination for monitoring patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), who are usually young and require multiple follow-up tests throughout their lives.
At Psarras Research Medical Center, MR Enterography is performed according to the latest protocols using state-of-the-art equipment. The MRI department has years of experience in performing this examination, and the findings are evaluated by a specialized physician at our center.
Preparation for the Exam
Before the examination, the patient must follow a special diet for proper bowel cleansing and undergo specific preparation on the day of the scheduled test. Detailed instructions will be provided by our reception staff.
