Magnetic Enterography

Μαγνητική Εντερογραφία

Magnetic Resonance Enterography (MR Enterography, MRE) is a specialised technique of imaging for the small intestine with an MRI scanner. It is widely used for the diagnosis of various small bowel diseases, particularly Crohn's disease.
MRE is a non-invasive test that can visualise the bowel in great detail. The main advantage of the method is the absence of ionising radiation which makes it the test of choice for follow-up patients with inflammatory bowel disease who are usually young and undergo several rechecks during their lifetime.

At the Medical Imaging Diagnostic Centre, MRIs are performed according to the latest protocols and with modern equipment. In addition, the MRI department has many years of experience in performing this examination and the evaluation of the findings is performed by a specialized physician in our centre.

Before the test, the examinee should follow a special diet for proper bowel cleansing and a preparation on the day of the scheduled test. Detailed instructions will be provided by the secretariat of our centre.
